Oscar Berg – What a View

Oscar Berg – What a View

At Metro, we love collaborations that open up new perspectives – and that’s exactly what we experienced with the artist Oscar Berg.

Oscar is a freelance illustrator, 2D animator, and graphic designer. He grew up in Kungsbacka, Sweden, where he picked up his first marker pens like any other kid, but never stopped drawing.

In 2015, he began his freelance career, developing a style that is both playful and highly detailed. His inspirations are as unexpected as they are personal: the world of insects, endless Google Image deep dives, Lionel Koechlin’s album cover for Genesis’ Duke, the breakdown at 2:00 in Michael Jackson’s Human Nature, MS Paint – and techniques he hasn’t yet had the chance to try.

This spirit of curiosity became the core of the campaign “What a View” – an illustrated series in which Oscar reinterprets both Metro Eyewear and Gothenburg from fresh angles. His work combines humor, emotion, and a sense of discovery, inviting viewers to see the city through an unexpected lens.

The project also gave life to a frame of the same name: “What a View.” A design that translates Oscar’s artistic energy into eyewear – bold, expressive, and full of curiosity. The frame is inspired by the skateboard scene in the late 90's.

We are proud to have collaborated with Oscar and to present both the art series and the frame “What a View”. This is a project that reminds us the world can always be experienced in new ways – if we dare to shift our perspective.
