Collaborating with creative people who dare to interpret the world in their own way is something we at Metro are truly passionate about. That’s why teaming up with Elin PK felt like such a natural step. She is an illustrator and artist who combines humor, color, and playfulness in everything she creates. "I aim to keep the creation playful and naive" - Elin. For us, she's a true inspiration.

Together with Elin, we developed a pair of limited edition sunglasses, fittingly named “PK.” The arch itself was the starting point – but the project really came alive when Elin began to interpret Gothenburg through her own artistic lens. She was given free rein to create motifs that represent the city to her. "I find inspiration in almost everything. From nostalgia to taste experiences or people I pass on city streets" - Elin.

Elin never hesitates to approach the local culture with both seriousness and a wink. One of her designs became a tribute to a true Gothenburg classic: a “halv special” from Lasse på Heden. Perhaps the most iconic dish the city has to offer and a perfect symbol of the humor and down-to-earth character Gothenburg is known for. The result was a collection where Elin’s signature style meets the soul of the city – colorful, affectionate, and full of surprises.

Elin describes how she feels about Gothenburg. "I love that Gothenburg is unapologetically straightforward. It’s diverse, yet comfortable. A bit dull, but always with new things to discover. It’s like a small town community with big city aspirations" - Elin.

For us, this collaboration is about more than design or products. It’s a story about Gothenburg, told through the eyes of Elin PK – where something as simple as a hot dog can stand side by side with modern design and become part of something greater.

This is exactly the kind of encounter we want to create: where tradition, culture, and creativity merge into something new.
